Tina  is qualified in Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy, Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stones, Warm Bamboo Massage & Holistic Facials. She is also a qualified Pilates Instructor. 

Tina graduated from Queen's University in 2008 with a 1st Class Honours degree in Film Studies but after spending some time working in various industries she decided to return to education to train as a massage therapist, as she always had a strong desire to work in a job that helps and supports people. Combined with an interest in anatomy, health and wellness, she decided being a massage therapist would be the ideal role.

Her hard work and dedication to her craft have been recognised on a couple of occasions. In 2014 she was chosen to represent SERC at the Worldskills UK Aromatherapy competition, where she placed in the top ten therapists in this UK-wide competition. Just last year, she was nominated as a finalist for The Masseuse of The Year Award at the NI Hair and Beauty Awards.

 

Tina set up Natural Roots Wellness on Stranmillis Road in 2016, initially renting a small space in a shared building.  Now the business has grown to have 2 serene therapy rooms and a bright studio space, with several freelance therapists and instructors, who are all very passionate about what they do, offering their services at the centre.  

In addition to helping people deal with stress and emotional issues, she enjoys using her massage skills and knowledge of anatomy to help her clients correct muscle imbalances, improve posture and reduce aches and pains. In her Pilates classes she likes to incorporate small equipment to help engage and challenge the participants.

Emily is a Fitness Instructor and Pilates Teacher offering both classes and 1-to-1 sessions.

 

After the birth of her first child in 2012, Emily decided to change her career path moving into the fitness industry and away from the Corporate world. Turning what had always been a passion into a career, she retrained as a Fitness Instructor, specialising in pre & postnatal fitness and has never looked back!

 

With a strong personal Pilates & Yoga practice it soon became clear to her that this was the area of fitness she wanted to explore further. She was finding that the vast majority of her clients had issues or ailments that were greatly helped and eased by Pilates exercises and so she decided to dedicate some time to studying and practicing the Pilates method in more detail.   Emily went on to successfully complete the VCTC level 3 Mat Pilates course under the tuition of Neil Healey (Neilpilates) and has since been teaching classes in the Belfast & Newtownabbey areas as well as working with clients on a 1 to 1 basis.  

 

Emily enjoys leading classes that are inclusive and open to all, always ensuring that adaptations or alternative exercises are provided when required.  She focusses a lot on the connection between the mind and the body and the power of Pilates breathing, with her clients often commenting on how they enjoy great mental benefits as well as improvements in their physical health.   She really enjoys creating personalised sessions and programmes to help clients achieve their goals, whether it be returning to exercise after having a baby, recovering from injury, or increasing strength and mobility.

 

Emily is always keen to add to her skillset and her interest in the mind and body connection led her to become a qualified Meditation Teacher and, more recently, Hypnotherapist.

She holds regular meditation workshops as well as offering individual Hypnotherapy sessions and personalised audios for clients to listen to.

 

Emily’s goal is to help others achieve greater wellness of both the mind and the body through her combination of skills.

Olivia has been a Complementary Healthcare practitioner for around 4 years. She trained in Complementary Healthcare at Brighton University, where her studies included Swedish Massage, Deep tissue Massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Nutritional Therapy.

 

From the very start of her course, Olivia thoroughly enjoyed being  massage therapist and found that it came very naturally to her. After her studies at the University, she went on to work in an Holistic Therapies clinic, where she worked for 2 years with a wide range of clients. During her time there she continued her professional deveIopment by studying Natural face lift massage and Pregnancy massage.

 

Olivia finds being a massage therapist an extremely rewarding job. She really likes how her treatments create such an immediate calming and relieving effect on the people she works with.

 

Her style of massage has changed over her time as a therapist. She prefers to listen to the needs of her clients and tailor her treatments to suit what they need on that day. Making her clients comfortable while providing them with an effective and enjoyable massage is her main goal.

Gemma  trained in the art of reflexology over 12 years ago with Body and Sole School of Complimentary therapies in Lisburn.  She also studied Reflexology for fertility with Dorothy Kelly in Kokoro Naturopathy school in Dromore. 

She was drawn to this healing modality due to her deep interest in the mechanisms which operate within the human body.

She feels that Reflexology is both an art and a science, working with the energy channels in the body, which end in our feet. She has found Reflexology to be helpful for improving circulation, cleansing the body of toxins, revitalizing energy and balancing the whole body.

Gemma is inspired and motivated by the incredible power which this treatment has. She feels it has the power to assist each person’s body to kick start their own innate healing capacity.

In addition to her holistic therapies, Gemma studied yoga, meditation and pranayama in Nepal 8 years ago. She holds a deep appreciation of the power of the breath in bringing a state of calmness and balance to the body. She offers an element of pranayama, which is a range of breathing practices and meditation in her treatments.
